SIMTEK Joined Hands with HURCO for Live Machining with Mastercam @ INTEC 2013, Coimbatore
Mastercam X7 has been launched officially in Chennai on 4th June 2013.Mastercam X7 has come up with excellent enhancements, which in turn reduces programming time and increases productivity. Also Mastercam X7 has introduced New Add-on’s to face the Machine Tool Builders Requirements.
During the INTEC 2013 Tardeshow, SIMTEK has taken an opportunity to prove Mastercam X7 Capabilities on the HURCO Machine. Mastercam High Speed Machining Toolpath was programmed for a Fan Mould and a Live cutting on HURCO VMX 42E was done.
During Mastercam’s High Speed Machining each cutting pass can be configured with advanced corner rounding and Tool path refinement techniques to reduce the impact of corners, sharp angles, and other discontinuities. These parameters help maintain a constant load on the tool, reduce machining time and improve machined surface quality.
Master cam’s Hybrid finishing Tool path addresses steep and shallow areas utilizing both scallop and constant Z approaches in a single Tool path. The Tool path switches seamlessly between both the methods and cuts in a logical optimized fashion.
Area Clearance, Rest Roughing and Scallop Tool paths have been adopted to complete the Mold in lesser time when compared to other programming methods. When Compared to normal Tool paths Mastercam High Speed Machining reduces cycle time up to 30 to 40 percent to other CAM software’s.
“We participated in INTEC 2013 held at Coimbatore from 6th to 10th June 2013, We had displayed our VMX42E machine in our stall to show the machine performance on machining die and molds. With the support of SIMTEK .we have machined a Fan mold in our machine, the performance of the machine and the compatibility of the Mastercam program was excellent.”
